Man Living Under Rock Unaware of Property Price Increases

Writer: Alexander AdamsAlexander Adams

As first-time buyers and young adults find it increasingly difficult to find affordable housing, local man Flint Harlow apparently missed all developments, only being made aware of them at a recent town hall meeting.

“I guess I’ve just been living under a rock this whole time, I had no idea how difficult it was getting for people to get on the property ladder,” he is quoted as saying.

Though the results of the town hall were inconclusive, many people were astounded to hear that someone was actually living under a rock by choice and asked him why.

Mr. Harlow began living under the rock when he became interested in spelunking and wanted to acclimatize himself as much as possible before pursuing the hobby further.

“After that, I became lost in the process. This is genuinely the first time I have been out from under the rock in twenty years or so. So much has changed, and I had no idea.”

Since the story initially broke, there have been hundreds of inquiries as to the nature and pricing of the property. The rock, a pure granite, no bedroom, no kitchen sub-divided apartment, is a Grade-1 listed property originally created 300 million years ago. There are no utilities provided, but some water does drip down when it rains. Similar rocks are on the market in Central London for £1,500 per month.

Even with such an enticing location abundant around the country, granite is still an expensive choice of stone for many people struggling to find places to stay, especially when compounded by the current cost of living crisis. So, the question remains, what can be done to help those struggling? Fortunately, there are alternatives for those who have lost hope: there are plenty of gravestones to bury themselves under.
